Smoke Like a Fish
Self-Titled
Do The Dog Music

This is the debut album from this crazy 8 piece English ska outfit. They originally formed in 1994 being inspired by bands such as The Specials, then split up in 1997 and reformed in 1998. They have appeared on a few compilations and have finally bought out their own album! And it's one I'd be making sure I got my hands on if I didn't have it already! Overall they have a great sound. Noticably influenced in most of the tracks by the 2 Tone era, but with a definite 90's feel, without being just another ska/pop band. Pretty much one of the best ska bands to come out of UK I have heard in a long time. After the first listen you will be hooked, and no doubt bouncing around your lounge room trying to sing along, if you knew the words. Probably my favourite track on the album would be the first one, ‘Psalm'. Fast and really catchy, but when you actually listen to the words it is a pretty depressing take on the world. Track 2 ‘Ready or Not', is also a damn fine tune. Again, quite fast paced, lots of horns and really upbeat, and will get stuck in your head for at least a few hours. I could go through the whole  12 tracks telling you how good they are, but your best bet is to just get a copy and see for yourself!. If you are into bands like Liberator, The Specials or The Busters, then you are really going to like this one.
Highly recommended. Visit their site to find out how to get hold of it..(Since writing this review I have listened to the album a few more times, and I think you should get this album ok, it's farking brilliant) www.smokelikeafish.co.uk
