A novel by Ska Child
Payback - a story told by Ska Child and written by David Harris is a
shocking look into the life of Todd Black. It tells the story of a boy
who grew up in the foster care system after his family was killed by
home invaders. He goes from one household to the next and encounters
sexual and physical abuse around every corner. Ending up in prison
after he was falsely accused of killing a cop he learns to kill in
order to survive, and after his release he goes looking for payback...
All
up quite a well written story. There are a couple of parts that make
you cringe, where the story seems to have been put aside to explain the
skinhead cult and it comes across kind of irrelevant. Pretty disturbing
and depressing at most times, but it certainly puts you in the head of
Todd Black and opens you eyes to what abuse can do to a person.
Although a really heavy storyline it is fairly easy to read and you
won't be able to put it down.
