The Braces
Ska got Soul
Mad Butcher Records

The Braces were around the German scene in the mid-80's to early 90's, and were one of the first ska bands to come out of Germany. Now after  about 10 years they're back again with a whole album of  new songs that prove they're still capable of writing good tunes. The Braces tend to write more sophisticated and senstitive type tracks. There aren't any crazy tunes that you would find on the likes of Bad Manners albums or nutty sounds like Madness. But they are more mellow songs which deal with stuff like relationships, jealousy . Sometimes it can get a bit much and seem a bit too depressing but the more poppy tunes are good and the track ‘Keep on Keeping on' is a pretty feel-good kinda track. The album features 8 songs + 1 unreleased track from way back when. Pick it up through Mad Butcher Records.
