Boston Scene Report
Various Punk
Featuring four bands who have each contributed two previously
unreleased tracks, this TKO Records release showcases, as the title
suggests, some of Boston's newer punk and hardcore bands. Starting
of with Suspect Device, these guys sound like America's answer to Mach
Pelican minus the Japanese accents, of course. Pretty harmless stuff
but nothing I would get hugely excited about. Following a close second is Tommy and the Terrors who have a more of a hardcore sound, putting a bit more guts into their music. The A-Team runs much along the same lines although they tend to scream a lot harder resulting in a relative loss of melody. Bringing
up the rear is Fast Actin' Fuses who sound like the odd band out with
their new Metallica/glam rock/who knows what sound. www.tkorecords.com
