Bakers Dozen
Divided From the Masses
Pure Impact
Released on Pure-Impact Records, this is the first full-length album
from Bakers Dozen. Kicking off with ‘Rest Assured' you are immediatly
made aware that this album is going to fast, powerful and extremely
addictive. With catchy, punky oi! tunes there isn't a track on the
whole album which doesn't kick ass, and there's bloody 15 of em.
‘Divided From The Masses', a simple track about being a skinhead, is
probably the track which stood out the most to me. Aswell as ‘Born
Liar', a great melodic tune without the crappy ballad style that a lot
of bands like to chuck in these days.
Lyrics cover stuff about skinhead, paedophiles, the media and the
working class. And thankfully without any politically shite, all backed
up with strong vocals that doesn't drown out the music, but fits
perfectly.
All up this is a grouse album from these Scottish boys, and I am
looking forward to future releases. Pure-Impact have done a great job
in producing this album, as they do with all their releases.
