These guys are pretty bloody good. They’re not gonna be
everyone’s cup of tea, but they do what they do very well. What do they
do? Well. They rock, they skank, and they probably do a fair bit of
acid with Mike Patton by the sound of it.
I don’t want to play the
“if you like xxx you’re going to love this” angle ‘cause it’s shit and
condescending. These guys do the “hardcore with a ska edge” thing above
par level. And not bullshit metal hardcore, but the real thing. There’s
a definite pop sensibility happening that means they’ll never have
Blood for Blood intensity, but that’s not what they’re going for I
guess. I suppose this is aimed at people who sorta like Rancid but want
something with balls. Not scary big balls, just a pair. It’s a very
seppo sound, but they pull it off.

You
just can’t help the feeling these guys don’t know what evil is, but
they like the idea. It’s like watching my four year old throw a
tantrum. He puts his heart into it, but you gotta laugh.
That said
they’re musically competent. Tight as. Nothing new, or particularly
destructive or Satanic for that matter, but what’s in a name eh?
Slightly overblown pub-rock really. “Psycho” is a belter. Lemmy would
be tapping his foot, but he wouldn’t admit it. “Flying Saucer Man” is
frankly ridiculous, but I assume that’s the intent. These guys are
good, but not funny enough to be schlock, and not hard enough to be
serious, so I’m sort of left wondering…
