Brand
new album from North Carolina’s Negi-Core kings, Empire Falls. It has a
bit more of a rockier feel than their last effort “The Underdogs”, with
a nice heavy guitar sound and fucken great vocals. The lyrical content
is quite good with topics ranging from how much shit the band cops (We
Live To Be Hated), scene bullshit (Drama Queen) and standing by your
convictions (You’ll Never Get Through To Me). I also like the couple of
slower songs they have put in (Live Tonight Like It Was Your Last,
Forever) and the more thrashy/hardcore sounding Choose Your Side which
has a really eerie sounding but very cool guitar lead happening.
Overall I think this is an excellent release that will sit well with
people who are already fans of the band and also with people who
haven’t heard them yet. Go buy it!
