Interview with Kev from mid 2004
New album coming up very soon...whats to be expected?
The majority of people who have heard it say it's a cross between
"battle scarred" & "face the aggression".It's powerful sounding but
not metal.Most of the songs on it are about violence,we're sure it will
appeal to the die hard condemned fans and hopefully some new listeners.
Are there any plans for this to be the last album, or will you be kicking on for a while yet?
Every album we record could be our last,we just don't know how things
are going to go really but there's time for us to make the ultimate
condemned album yet!
Whats with the pink vinyl?
Typical americans really all the colours they can think of (not our choice).
Hows your take on the current punk/oi/skinhead scene?
In the u.k. it's not very strong but elsewhere it seems stronger.
Any new bands popped up lately that you've really got into?
No not really personally i'm listening to the old bands at the moment.
You just relesaed a DVD of an old gig. Hows the response been?
As it's over 15 years old,shot with 1 camera and not digital quality
it's selling well although probably more for nostalgic reasons.
Ever thought of doing a 'complete Condemned' DVD?
Yes,we did toy with the idea as we have lots of footage here from over
the years but it would be very,very expensive to edit.So we've shelved
the idea for the time being.
Did you ever think that Condemned 84 would still be such a favourite all these years on?
No,not really but we're getting more and more newcomers listening to our music which is great.
You have battled through some shit in your musical career, was there
ever a point where it all seemed like too much crap to perservere?
Yes,many a time it's been very stressful at times but i think why
should i let these fuckers make us call it a day! if anything it's made
us more
determined and stronger."we will never die" !
Do you have a favourite album you have put out or do you love 'em all?
Some i'm not too keen on for production reasons but in general i'm happy with most of the songs.
Will you ever come and do a show or two in Australia?
It's looking very unlikely at this moment in time.No promoter is
offering us the chance to play over there and we couldn't afford the
air fares ourselves.If anybody could help out get in touch via the web
site.
